Still looking for a venue? You may say "I Do" to Memorial Station in Belton, MO

Located in the heart of Belton, MO, Memorial Station has a rustic, yet modern charm that should really be considered in your search for your wedding day venue. In July, I photographed a wedding at this venue and was impressed with how versatile the space was, both inside and out. With a exposed wood inside, rolling garage style doors to incorporate the outdoors with the indoors, and the beautiful scenery when you step out on to the patio, this venue has everything you need to make your day even more special.

I had a chance to talk a little with Nikki Worstell, Event Coordinator at the venue and she gave me a glance at what makes Memorial Station so unique.

1. Please, give me a little background behind your venue.

"Memorial Station opened its doors in the spring of 2013. This 4,500 square foot venue is

reminiscent of an old train depot, and designed to host weddings, family celebrations, business luncheons, community events, and more! The Station was the focal point of a $4.6 million improvement project to make Memorial Park a gathering place for the Belton community. Since opening, Memorial Station has hosted more than 1,100 events."

2. What kind of events to you cater to?

"We love having any type of event – civic, business, weddings and receptions, birthday and graduation parties. You name it, we will host it!!"

3. Do you have a list of preferred vendors?

"Yes, we compile a list of preferred vendors each spring including food, DJ's, food, photographers, and other services."

4. What are some things that set your venue apart from others?

"Since we are located in Memorial Park, we have several gorgeous natural features. We also have incredible outdoor features including a small gazebo, a lit fountain (to be coming soon), and fire pit area with built-in seating. The architecture of Memorial Station so unique – the gorgeous stone fireplace, open air-concept with retractable garage doors, and the wood paneled ceiling. It is such an amazing blank slate.

5. What are your policies for food and beverage?

"We welcome all food vendors including self-caterers. We recently have partnered with Embrace the Grape to be our exclusive alcohol vendor."

6. What’s your favorite part of hosting events?

"I love the WHOLE process of seeing the vision of the client’s come to life."

7. What's the most fun event you’ve ever done?

"Each event has its own uniqueness. Some of my favorites have been where different cultures are represented through food, entertainment, dancing, and rituals."

8. Is there anything that you would like perspective couples getting married to know when

considering your venue?

"We have so much to offer for a great price point! With Memorial Park as the backdrop, we can have wedding ceremonies inside or outside, tons of options for indoor and outdoor photos, flexibility for a variety of vendors, and the capability to seat 275 guests."
